Dear inkt|art Readers,
As those of you who are artists and writers know, there’s not much worse in the creative world than losing your work. And for reading audiences, there is nothing sadder than losing the opportunity to see fresh, new work by a favorite artist. Alas, one of our own contributors, Noel Franklin (of Last Call series fame) recently had ORIGINAL inked pages stolen from a Seattle restaurant. Dreadful business, and just as she’s preparing Gone Girl #2 for the upcoming November expo. What’s a girl to do?
Why, begin a Kickstarter campaign, of course! So, if you’ve enjoyed reading her work here, or know the pain of losing work yourself, and want universal brownie points, head over to her Kickstarter page and contribute what you can to get her going for her November press run deadline. She’s offering loads of great goodies for you, plus a video explaining her project. More importantly, you’ll be doing a GOOD THING.
For those of you who don’t know how Kickstarter works, it’s a pledge thing. Noel states upfront how much she needs, and the site collects funds, but she DOESN’T GET A PENNY OF IT unless she meets that goal. Boldness required! Let’s help her out. Go here now, to watch her short Kickstarter video, listen to her plan, and get yourself some original art as a reward.
Thanks, inkt|arters.
